Job summary

Service Care Solutions is seeking a Ground Maintenance Operative in Birmingham for a 3-month contract with potential permanency. You will work with a housing association to enhance neighbourhood environments and deliver high standards of outdoor maintenance.

The role includes gardening, grounds maintenance, and seasonal tasks with hours 7:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. PAYE inc Holiday and Umbrella pay options are available, with a path to permanent placement after the contract.

Qualifications

• Experience in gardening and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate hand tools and basic machinery.
• Commitment to health and safety and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking gardening, garden clearance, and grounds maintenance for various properties as per service specifications and schedules.
• Performing seasonal external maintenance tasks such as hard landscaping, fencing repairs, and slab repairs.
• Supporting estate management by maintaining high presentation standards and neighbourhood initiatives.
• Using hand tools and mechanical horticultural equipment for tasks like grass cutting, weeding, planting, and shrub maintenance.
• Employing modern technology to deliver efficient groundskeeping while adhering to safety protocols.
• Ensuring services are delivered promptly to promote positive customer perceptions and satisfaction.
• Collaborating with team members to share best practices and improve service efficiency.
• Upholding health and safety standards at all times, including PPE use and risk assessments.
• Recognising safeguarding concerns and acting swiftly when necessary.
• Striving for continuous professional development to enhance service delivery.
