An exciting opportunity has become available for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Birch Vets on a 12-month fixed-term contract while the Clinical Director is on maternity leave, with the possibility to stay on permanently afterward.

We are a busy first opinion 3-practice group seeking an enthusiastic new team member. The role involves a mix of consulting and surgical procedures. Our diverse client base includes insured clients and those seeking the best for their pets, enabling comprehensive medical workups and extensive soft tissue & orthopaedic surgeries. We also collaborate closely with Merseyside Police, Guide Dogs for the Blind, and other Wirral charities.

Rota & Work-Life Balance

We offer a flexible approach to rota patterns and working hours to support your work-life balance. A typical full-time role involves 40 hours per week with a 1:3 weekend rota (9am-1pm/9am-2pm). We can accommodate early finish times (1pm or 4pm) and reduced hours as needed.

About Us

You will join an experienced and supportive team of 6 Vets, 5 RVNs, and 7 support staff. Our practice has a strong management structure and offers coaching and mentoring. We have certified specialists in medicine and surgery. Our main premises in Oxton have been serving clients for over 100 years, with facilities including 4 consult rooms, 2 theatres, a dental suite with digital X-ray, Vet CT, in-house lab, and extensive surgical equipment. We also operate two smaller consulting sites.
