We’re currently recruiting for a Biotechnologist Team Leader to join our Manufacturing team. In this role, you will lead a team of Biotechnologists, achieve the production schedule, and maintain GMP, safety, and environmental compliance, playing a key part in advancing our mission and making a real difference.

Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  1. Taking accountability for the performance and line management of a team of Biotechnologists.
  2. Coordinating production activities and requirements with other departments to achieve the production schedule with minimal disruption, including being on a 'on call' rota.
  3. Ensuring all work within the manufacturing facility complies with GMP procedures.
  4. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for facility SOPs, batch documentation, CAPA/Deviations/Change Controls, and regulatory/customer GMP audits.
  5. Deputising for the Production Manager in approving quality documents.
  6. Leading all manufacturing processes within the GMP facility.
  7. Leading process and continuous improvement projects to increase departmental efficiency.
  8. Organising team training and reviewing/approving training records.

We are looking for:

  1. A graduate in a science-based subject and/or experience working to GMP standards in an aseptic environment.
  2. Knowledge of Lentiviral Vector Manufacturing is desirable.
  3. Previous biological/chemical manufacturing experience in an MHRA/FDA regulated environment.
  4. Demonstrable ability to lead and manage a team.
  5. Flexibility to work varying shift patterns (shift allowance payable).
