Job summary

Oxford Biotherapeutics (OBT) seeks a Scientific Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve applications for scientific data interrogation, focusing on biological and bioinformatics workflows. You will work closely with bioinformaticians and data scientists to develop tools that enable exploration and interpretation of complex datasets.

This on-site role at the Oxford Science Park requires independence, end-to-end ownership, and proactive improvement of workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS, bioinformatics, or related field.
• Experience with biological data and life sciences workflows.
• Experience delivering production‑quality software.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop internal applications for biological data interrogation.
• Build APIs and services using .NET.
• Collaborate with bioinformaticians and data scientists.
• Deliver tested, production‑quality software for research.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Take ownership of end-to-end initiatives.
