Job summary

Cellular Origins, based on the TTP Campus near Cambridge, is seeking a hands-on Robotics Engineer to join our Robotics Engineering Team. You will help develop, integrate, test and improve robotic systems underpinning our automation platform, working with software, mechanical, electrical and systems engineers to ensure real-world reliability.

You will contribute to ROS-based software, conduct thorough testing, analyse results, and document findings to guide engineering decisions, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Solid robotics/automation experience gained through industry, academic projects or practical engineering work.
• Programming experience, ideally Python, to write or modify scripts for testing or data analysis.
• Structured testing, troubleshooting and problem-solving approach.
• Ability to analyze technical data and communicate findings clearly in reports.
• Understanding hardware and software interactions within integrated systems.
• Good communication skills in a multidisciplinary team.
• Interest in reliable, robust engineering solutions and system performance.
• Experience with industrial robots or robotic arms.
• Familiarity with ROS and system integration/verification.
• Knowledge of sensors, actuators or control systems.
• Experience with Python data processing/visualisation libraries.
• Experience in a product development environment.

Responsibilities

• Test and validate robotic systems, creating and executing test plans for functionality, performance and reliability.
• Support system integration of hardware, software, sensors and automation components.
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues with multidisciplinary teams to identify root causes.
• Collect, process and analyse test data to evaluate performance and trends.
• Produce clear technical reports, conclusions and recommendations.
• Contribute to ROS-based software stack by coding to improve functionality and reliability.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to improve design, usability and reliability.
