Job summary

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust in Lincolnshire is seeking a Pharmacy Technician with a strong history of project delivery to spearhead biosimilar implementation projects. You will lead on transitions to biosimilar medicines, working with High Cost Drugs Pharmacists, Procurement and clinical teams to achieve substantial NHS savings.

The role focuses on delivering complex cost-improvement projects, horizon scanning for new product releases and ensuring robust data reporting and governance

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• BTEC in Pharmaceutical science or equivalent.
• Registered with General Pharmaceutical Society.
• Theoretical study (or on the pathway to complete), or portfolio demonstrating equivalent through experience, and relevant short courses equivalent to post-graduate diploma level.
• Evidence of relevant further educational qualifications e.g. in IT, project management.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent qualifications.
• Membership of relevant professional groups (e.g. APTUK).

Responsibilities

• Lead on biosimilar implementation projects with High Cost Drugs Pharmacists, Procurement and clinical teams.
• Facilitate seamless transition of patients onto biosimilar medicines.
• Horizon scan and identify upcoming product releases with financial impact.
• Develop and implement plans to utilise new products and report on budget impact.
• Provide specialist clinical services and advice on high-cost drugs and biosimilars.
• Train staff on Blueteq and support policy implementation.
