Job summary

Scantox is offering a Trainee Laboratory Technician apprenticeship in bioscience at Alderley Park, UK. The role focuses on hands-on lab work, reagent preparation, and equipment calibration while working under GLP standards.

Full training will be provided in a fast-paced, professional setting. The apprenticeship targets recent graduates with GCSEs and UCAS points, emphasising attention to detail, organisation, and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum five GCSEs (9–4) including Maths, English and Science.
• 104 UCAS points with Biology/Science at A-level or equivalent (e.g., Biology A-level or Science-related).Good Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Genuine interest in science and laboratory work.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work accurately.
• Proactive and reliable approach; good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day laboratory operations, including media preparation and stock control.
• Calibrate equipment and maintain accurate records.
• Adhere to GLP principles and SOPs; ensure safety compliance.
• Organise and manage laboratory consumables and supplies.
• Work with scientists and technicians to support study work.
• Receive training and develop new technical skills on the job.
• Contribute to a collaborative, professional laboratory environment.
