The University of Leeds seeks a Biomedical Services Administration Assistant to support high-quality provisions for scientific research. This role involves administrative tasks, coordination of animal welfare efforts, and ensuring compliance with Home Office regulations. Do you have experience of working in a busy office environment? Do you want to be part of a team providing a proactive support service to deliver high quality provisions to facilitate world class scientific research?
You will act as the administrative assistant to the Biomedical Services Research Facility, as well as performing the role of Home Office Liaison Contact (HOLC) to support Home Office licensing within the University. You will have experience of organising and minuting meetings and committees, experience of financial and purchasing systems, use of databases, and strong IT skills. The role will require you to coordinate animal purchases both domestically and internationally, liaise with academics and suppliers, and organise deliveries. You will administer meetings and committees, including preparing documents for the Animal Welfare Ethical Review Board (AWERB), and preparing minutes from the AWERB committees.
You will be working as part of a team responsible for ensuring a high standard of animal care and services are maintained to support a wide range of world class research programmes at the University of Leeds. You will be required to work effectively as part of a team with staff and others to promote good working practices ensuring service adaptability to meet the changing needs of the Facility and the customers.
