An exciting opportunity at NHS for a Biomedical Scientist Section Manager overseeing Haematology/Blood Transfusion at Bradford Royal Infirmary. Lead operational organisation, supervise laboratory staff, and ensure high-quality service while driving improvements. Candidates should possess HCPC registration and relevant postgraduate qualifications.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an innovative laboratory as a key person who will work alongside laboratory based Biomedical Scientists, advanced Biomedical Scientists, Consultant Haematologist, Clinical Directors and Pathology Service Managers to drive improvements to service.
Applications are invited for the position of Section Manager overseeing Haematology/ Blood Transfusion, the post is primarily based at Bradford Royal Infirmary Pathology Department, but applicants will be required to work at any of the IPS laboratories as required. The section manager will take a lead role within the department and hold responsibility for operational organisation of both departments. The post holder will be expected to work alongside colleagues within IPS to ensure common processes and procedures.
1. To work in the various areas of the department and to deputise for the Cross-site Service Lead when necessary.
2. To supervise and participate in the day to day technical running of the Haematology and Transfusion section so as to provide an efficient, safe, high quality service. This is to include the interpretation and validation of laboratory results and to provide technical advice to clinical staff.
3. To supervise in the Transfusion section as and when appropriate, including participation through these sections on a roster basis.
4. To supervise and monitor the quality of the work of the BMS's and MLA's within the department.
5. To supervise the implementation and monitoring of appropriate internal and external quality control and quality assurance systems in co-operation with the Service
