A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join their Pathology Team. The role involves conducting tests in Haematology, Coagulation, and Biochemistry, with an emphasis on accurate reporting and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Pathology Team at Ramsay Rivers (Harlow/Sawbridgeworth). This is a strategically located laboratory within the Ramsay Healthcare Group of hospitals.
The laboratory has the benefit of a multi-discipline repertoire in a moderately paced environment, which would appeal to specialist staff in one discipline looking to expand their knowledge base in a laboratory with time to do so.
A vacancy has arisen for a full time experienced Biomedical Scientist with a minimum of 1 year post registration experience working in a blood sciences laboratory. Experience is required in Haematology, Coagulation and Biochemistry ideally as well as Blood Transfusion where experience is essential.
The successful candidate will join the multidisciplinary team at the Ramsay Rivers TDL laboratory in Sawbridgeworth in Hertfordshire covering 24/7 with routine shifts between 08:00 and 21:00 Monday to Friday and out of hours cover on site from 21:00 to 08:00 and at weekends.
There is an out of hours rota is in place to cover overnight and weekends for which there are extra fixed payments and the successful candidate would be expected to participate in these shifts after a suitable period of training.

Overall Job Purpose:
To help in the smooth and efficient running of a section within the Pathology Department to ensure safe, rapid, timely and accurate reporting of results. Investigation and analysis of samples by the application of techniques and testing that include: Haematology, Coagulation, Biochemistry and Blood Transfusion.
The post holder will be required to work within any section of the department including core and unsocial hours as required.
Main Duties:
To include, but not be restricted to, the following duties:
Training and Education
1. Multidisciplinary Training as required
2. To maintain own personal development and attend departmental meetings as required.
3. To maintain registration with the HCPC, including a personal development portfolio as proof of competence to practice.
4. To take an active interest in and keep abreast of developments in the discipline.
5. To further develop junior colleagues by assisting in the training of MLA and BMS staff, and to undertake, complete, and sign off all competencies associated with these grades.
