A dedicated healthcare institution in the United Kingdom is seeking a motivated Biomedical Scientist for a one-year fixed-term contract. This role involves working across various areas of the Histopathology lab and requires a strong background in biomedical science, along with previous experience in NHS Histopathology. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining laboratory standards.
LOCATION: Histopathology Department Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
Integrated Pathology Solutions LLP is an innovative joint-venture pathology service between Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. This partnership delivers a high-quality pathology service through collaboration between three Trusts for the benefit of patient and service users.
The Department of Histopathology is looking to appoint 2 enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the team at a Band 5 level on a one year fixed term contract.
It would be advantageous for the successful candidate to have previous experience of working within an NHS Histology Laboratory.
The successful candidate would be expected to participate in all areas of the lab including Cut Up, Main Laboratory and Further Work (Immuno and Special Stains) and should be able to discuss in detail the role that a Band 5 will play in the key areas of a Histology lab.
The candidate would also be expected to participate and help facilitate other areas of the laboratory including training and audits.
The role will involve interaction with multi different staff members. The candidate is therefore expected to be able to illustrate a collaborative and respectful approach to working.
The candidates should be able to help identify improvements and be able to listen and respect ideas from their colleagues.
The Department of Histology is ISO15189:2012 accredited and is also a recognised HCPC / IBMS training laboratory.
