We are seeking a Biomedical Scientist who will assist the Senior Biomedical Scientist and liaise with the Section Head for the day-to-day management of the Histopathology Department. Utilising your expertise and thorough understanding of Histology, you will deliver high-quality and efficient laboratory services that help us make an impact on patient healthcare.

What you will do
  • Follow established policies and guidelines to ensure smooth laboratory operations
  • Adhere to IBMS and HCPC codes of practice and work consistently towards ISO 15189 (2012) and UKAS accreditation standards
  • Independently conduct routine and complex investigations using specialised equipment
  • Contribute to the clinical pathology service through effective organisational skills and high patient care standards
  • Participate in teaching and training new staff members as needed
  • Collaborate with supervisory staff and Pathologists on the development of new techniques
  • Foster strong team relationships and advocate for collaborative teamwork
  • Provide expert services in all areas of the department through participation in rotation
  • Methodically process samples and employ laboratory techniques per departmental SOPs
What you’ll bring
  • Degree in Biomedical Science or a related field
  • MSc in a relevant area is desirable
  • HCPC Registered
  • Experience working within a Histology laboratory
  • Membership with the Institute of Biomedical Sciences
