Job summary

Pulse Staffing Limited is seeking a Biomedical Scientist to join a private laboratory in London for a locum role. The candidate should have strong routine histopathology skills with a focus on microtomy.

Key duties include routine microtomy, embedding, staining, and maintaining turnaround times in a compliant lab environment. HCPC registration is required, with experience in histology/cellular pathology and microtomy preferred.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist.
• Experience in Histology/Cellular Pathology.
• Strong microtomy experience.
• Knowledge of special stains and IHC desirable.
• Experience with routine histopathology techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine microtomy to a consistently high standard.
• Assist with embedding, staining and slide quality control as required.
• Work accurately while supporting laboratory turnaround times.

Rate: £30+ per hour

Duration: 3–6 months

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join a private laboratory in London. This is an excellent locum opportunity for a Histology Biomedical Scientist with strong routine histopathology skills, particularly microtomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine microtomy to a consistently high standard.
• Assist with embedding, staining and slide quality control as required.
• Work accurately while supporting laboratory turnaround times.
• Follow laboratory protocols and health and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
• Previous experience working within Histology/Cellular Pathology.
• Strong practical experience in microtomy.
• Experience of routine histopathology techniques.
• Knowledge of special stains and IHC is desirable.
