Job summary

SYNLAB UK & Ireland seeks a Biomedical Scientist in Clinical Biochemistry to join the Blood Sciences team at Basildon Hospital. The role involves working 37.5 hours per week with rotation across Basildon and other sites, handling high-throughput testing and a wide range of biochemical analyses.

You will maintain quality standards, assist in day-to-day operations, and participate in 24/7 out-of-hours service.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) IBMS accredited degree or equivalent.
• HCPC State registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
• 3 years minimum experience in Blood Sciences Laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret routine and specialist biomedical investigations by participating in regular daily workloads, as directed by management.
• Maintain HCPC standards to practice as a registered Biomedical Scientist.
• Provide technical advice to clinical colleagues within competency.
• Process specimens and handle sensitive information with care and due diligence per SOPs.
• Propose and implement changes to SOPs, policies and work practices.
• Participate in development, verification and validation of new tests and related accreditation processes.
