Biomedical Scientist Clinical Biochemistry

The post holder will conduct day-to-day operations and handle technical aspects of the department. They will work closely with the departmental laboratory manager and senior staff to ensure effective service delivery across blood science disciplines.

Responsibilities include assisting the departmental laboratory senior in providing a high-quality, efficient, and effective service through the Quality Management System (QMS) and quality monitoring using key performance indicators.

In collaboration with the department laboratory manager and senior staff, the post holder will maintain an operational structure for blood sciences, ensuring the professional infrastructure supports staff training and achievement of competencies for UKAS accreditation standards.

The post holder will coordinate clinical activities with the departmental clinical team and implement policies and procedures relevant to their grade, including UKAS standards, national and European legislation, and discipline-specific regulatory requirements.

Additional responsibilities include supporting staff in employment matters, including training, development, and performance management.
