An established industry player in healthcare is seeking an enthusiastic HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join a dedicated team in a modern department. We are looking for an enthusiastic HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join a dedicated team in a modern department, providing a high-quality service on a 1-Year Fixed Term contract.
Opportunities for further study, scientific posters and papers, training courses, and CPD are strongly encouraged.
Cellular Pathology has a high-quality UKAS accreditation record and is an approved laboratory for Registration and Specialist training by the IBMS. The department will soon be moving to a new purpose-built laboratory facility and is currently implementing advanced digital and computational pathology systems as part of a pan-Dorset service improvement program.

Base Location: Primarily based at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site; cross-site cover may be required depending on service needs.

Duties include assisting with dissection, biopsy transfer in BMS led dissection, embedding, microtomy, special stains, and immunohistochemistry.

UHD is investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme. Some services may move sites this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Recruiters will be happy to answer questions about this during the interview. Employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement if the role or service relocates as part of a planned move; travel from home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute.
