Cellular Pathology Experience EssentialJoin our small, friendly, and supportive team as a Registered Biomedical Scientist in the Histology department. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centered pathology services.
As a Registered Biomedical Scientist, you will enhance patient care by performing routine laboratory techniques on diagnostic histology samples, ensuring accurate diagnoses are delivered within established standards and turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform accurate diagnostic testing and process histology samples using automated and manual methods.
Maintain laboratory safety, equipment, and compliance with statutory and quality standards (including UKAS).
Manage reagents, consumables, and contribute to service development and implementation of new technologies.
Train and support junior staff while engaging in ongoing professional development and mandatory training.
Utilise LIMS and other IT systems to ensure secure information handling, record-keeping, and participation in audits.
Candidate Requirements:
HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
IBMS-accredited Biomedical Sciences degree or equivalent degree accredited by IBMS.
IBMS Specialist Diploma in Cellular Pathology or at least 24 months of proven post-registration experience in Cellular Pathology.
Demonstrated evidence of continual professional development.
