NWLP is recruiting a band 5 Biomedical Scientist for the Chem/Haematology & Transfusion Blood Science Laboratory based at Hammersmith.
The BMS will rotate through different sections to gain comprehensive experience, working in a well-equipped environment with advanced automation and specialised technology in the special assays laboratory.
The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced team of senior BMS, Chem/Haematology & Transfusion team, and clinical lead.
Applicants must demonstrate initiative and possess strong communication and organisational skills. Experience in Chem/Haematology & Transfusion is not mandatory, but a good working knowledge of these areas is essential. Applications are open to suitably experienced BMSs from any discipline.
The Blood Science Service operates across six hospitals within the NWLP network. The successful candidate may be required to work at any of these sites to cover shifts.
The NWLP induction occurs on the first Monday of each month (excluding bank holidays) and includes laboratory training relevant to the role. All new staff must attend during their first week.
