This is an opportunity for an experienced HCPC registered biomedical scientist / registered health care professional to work in a busy innovative forward thinking point of care (POC) department providing lab oversight to meet ISO 15189: 2022 for POC schemes in NHS Tayside. This includes acute services within Ninewells, Perth Royal infirmary and Stracathro and the geographically vast area of the NHS Tayside community services with the three HSCP of Dundee, Angus and Perth.

This job role will be split between the Ninewells and Perth Royal Infirmary sites and will include travel to all communities’ locations with each of the HSCP of Dundee, Angus and Perth. You must demonstrate a passion for POC and understand the requirement for lab oversight ISO 15189: 2022 and the challenges that this brings. You will be working within a small multidisciplinary team providing POC guidance, advice, training, support and audit for POC schemes currently in use within NHS Tayside and participate in future POC developments and verification studies.

We are looking for a highly motivated professional who can represent NHS Tayside’s Visions and values and who will be a friendly and consistent face within our POC team. Team spirit, initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm are essential.

Post qualification professional development is encouraged and supported. You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council / or another health care professional registration body have previous post registration experience and have or be near completion of the IBMS specialist Diploma or relevant post graduate qualification. On attaining appropriate competences, you may be required to work public holidays and week end hours.
