Qualifications

Job description

Biomedical Engineer - Field-Based (Cambridge / Surrounding Areas)
£35,000 - £38,000 (up to £40K+ for exceptional candidates) + £6,600 Car Allowance or Van + Excellent Benefits
Covering Peterborough & Chelmsford | Permanent, Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Engineer to join a growing field-based team, supporting key hospital sites in Peterborough and Chelmsford, with occasional travel to other locations within the region. This role is ideally suited to someone based in or around Cambridge.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established service provider delivering critical equipment support to both NHS and private healthcare settings.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the repair, preventative maintenance, and asset management of medical devices across hospital sites. You'll work closely with clinical and technical staff, delivering a high standard of service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on a variety of medical equipment
  • Perform repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
  • Complete job documentation and close reports as per standard operating procedures
  • Travel between customer sites to perform corrective and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain stock of spare parts and liaise with suppliers when required
  • Support the Site or Team Leader with on-site activities
  • Attend customer meetings and maintain excellent service relationships
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Look for ways to improve service delivery and reduce operational costs

You must have:

  • Experience in servicing medical equipment including diathermy, patient monitoring, defibrillators and infusion devices
  • A full UK driving licence
  • UK-based experience in the NHS/Private sector
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS check
