Job description

Biomedical Diagnostics & Bio-Systems Engineer (m/f/d)

Our client is a fast-growing biomedical technology company headquartered in Shanghai, China, focused on advanced diagnostic systems and precision health technologies. Teams work at the intersection of molecular diagnostics, automation, bio-analysis, and clinical data science to build scalable solutions for cancer screening, early detection, and real-world clinical testing.

This role starts in May 2026 with a remote-first setup. The first three months will be remote to align objectives, workflows, and milestones. After that, any on-site engagement in China may be arranged by mutual agreement based on project needs, for example for lab integration or validation. Compensation is competitive, with additional allowances for any agreed on-site participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to R&D for molecular and cellular diagnostic methods, from concept through validation and transfer.
  • Optimize assay performance, automation workflows, and reliability across instruments and reagents.
  • Support biological signal detection, sample processing, and data interpretation with structured analysis.
  • Design testing protocols, QC procedures, and documentation that enable reproducibility and collaboration.
  • Work across biology, instrumentation, and software to deliver clinically meaningful, field-ready solutions.
Your Profile
  • Ideally holding a Ph.D. in Biomedicine, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Clinical Diagnostics, Biotechnology (or related field), or equivalent industry/clinical experience.
  • Ideally 3+ years in diagnostics R&D, assay development, or applied bio-systems engineering (industry, hospital, or research).
  • Experience with PCR, NGS, immunoassays, or automation workflows; familiarity with instrument/lab integration and structured validation.
  • Understanding of experimental design, QC/QA, and data interpretation for clinical or near-clinical settings.
  • Exposure to clinical data pipelines, interoperability, or basic regulatory concepts (e.g., IVD principles, documentation); experience with cross-functional collaboration is a plus.
  • English is the working language; additional languages are a plus.
We Offer
  • Very competitive salary package and comprehensive benefits.
  • Remote-first working model with optional short on-site exchanges by mutual agreement.
  • Housing and travel allowances available when on-site work is arranged.
  • Access to cutting-edge tools, datasets, and real-world clinical collaborations.
  • Dynamic and innovative environment with clear growth opportunities.
