Job description

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Specimen Reception team at the University Hospital Coventry site and the George Eliot site in Nuneaton.

The role involves accurately handling samples, assisting laboratory staff with technical tasks, and entering patient data into the pathology computer system. Good literacy, numeracy, communication skills, and intermediate IT skills are essential. The ability to work as part of a team and manage your own workload is also required.

Previous experience in data entry or a diagnostic pathology environment is advantageous, but full training will be provided. Please refer to the attached job description for detailed requirements.

Note that these positions are not suitable for graduates seeking training placements for HCPC registration and do not serve as automatic entry into a biomedical scientist role. Interviews are scheduled for 12th August 2025.

Successful candidates will need to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or GP. The role involves supporting laboratory activities under supervision, booking specimens, and handling telephone enquiries.
