Job summary

Seras is seeking a Heavy Plant and Machinery Operative to join the Site Operations team in Tilbury. This permanent role involves processing waste wood for biomass fuel, contributing to Energy Recovery Facilities nationwide.

The role features 12-hour shifts (4 on, 4 off) days and nights, with responsibilities including safe operation of heavy equipment, daily inspections, and ensuring KPIs are met, all within a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Desirable: computer literacy for operatives.
• First aid certification is preferred.
• CITB training is advantageous.
• Loading shovel certificate is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe working environment, report accidents and near misses.
• Adhere to environmental and quality procedures.
• Collaborate with team to achieve daily production KPIs.
• Operate driving machinery after training and authorization.
• Follow site traffic management processes for safe operations.
• Provide training and support to colleagues in relevant areas.
• Maintain product quality to meet customer specs.
• Conduct daily machinery inspections for readiness and safety.
• Load vehicles safely following established procedures.
