A progressive Independent School in Harrow is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Biology Teacher for a permanent, full-time position commencing in September. The successful Biology Teacher will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the wonders of the living world and biological processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging Biology Teacher lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a range of biological topics.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE Biology examinations, ensuring a strong understanding of key biological concepts.
- Foster a stimulating and inquiry-based learning environment where students can explore the natural world.
- Assess and monitor student progress in biology, providing clear and constructive feedback as a Biology Teacher.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the biology curriculum and the creation of engaging resources.
- Encourage student participation in practical experiments and scientific investigations in biology.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Biology or Science with a strong biology background.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Biology at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4).
- A strong and comprehensive knowledge of biological principles and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex biological ideas clearly and engagingly as a Biology Teacher.
- Ability to motivate and support students of varying abilities in their study of biology.
- A commitment to collaborative work and a supportive ethos within the science department.
