Job description

Job Title: Biology Teacher at EF International Language Campus, Oxford

EF International Language Campus on Pullens Road, Oxford is seeking a part-time Biology teacher to instruct Biology C1 and C2 at AS/A-Level (KS3/KS4) for our University Foundation Programme. The role involves approximately six and a half hours of class time per week.

The Role

Based at EF ILC Oxford, EF UP, and EF Executive School, you'll work in a vibrant, friendly environment. Using our blended learning system, you'll teach EFL, syllabus-specific content for UP, and tailored courses at the Executive School, engaging with students globally. Our strong academic team supports staff development through CPDs, observations, and peer reviews.

The position is paid hourly (£23-£25 based on experience). You will teach a total of 6 hours and 40 minutes weekly, potentially spread across the week or in one day. Specialist modules follow different school terms, ending with an exam week that includes paid marking. Additional classes may be available from other departments, and lessons are delivered in person at our Oxford campus.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject (Master's preferred)
  • Experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Teaching or tutoring experience in any setting
  • CELTA qualification is a plus but not mandatory
  • Passionate, professional, energetic, enthusiastic, and flexible
  • Motivated, proactive, positive, with initiative and responsibility
  • Interested in current teaching methodologies and professional development
  • Able to foster a positive, sharing classroom environment
