ROLE SUMMARY:

St Louis School – Archinto campus, part of the Inspired Education Group, is seeking a talented, well-qualified, and inspirational IB Diploma Programme (DP) Biology Teacher to cover a maternity leave from 24 November 2025.

The successful candidate will teach IB DP Biology and contribute to the continued development of the Science Department within a dynamic, internationally minded IB World School. This is a fixed-term appointment offering the chance to join a collaborative, student-centred team that places learning at the heart of everything we do.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver engaging, inquiry-based IB DP Biology lessons in line with IB standards and practices.
• Prepare students thoroughly for IB external assessments, supporting them to achieve outstanding academic outcomes.
• Work closely with Science Department colleagues and across disciplines to enrich curriculum design and foster interdisciplinary learning.
• Differentiate instruction and provide targeted support for students whose first language is not English.
• Participate fully in school life, including departmental meetings, professional development, and relevant extracurricular activities.
• Model the attributes of the IB Learner Profile and the Inspired Education ethos in all interactions.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential

• Legal right to live and work in Italy or an EU passport.
• Degree in Biology (or closely related field) and recognised teaching qualification.
• Minimum of two years’ teaching experience, with proven success preparing students for IB external examinations.
• Strong laboratory and practical skills, with the ability to bring biological concepts to life for students.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and supporting multilingual learners.

Preferred

• Previous experience in an international or multicultural school setting.
• Specific expertise or prior success delivering IB DP Biology.
• Familiarity with strategies for English as an Additional Language (EAL) support.
