Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is supporting a secondary school in Ipswich to recruit a Biology Teacher for a temporary, full-time position starting 1 November 2026. You will deliver Biology from KS3 through KS5 and work alongside the Head of Science to maintain high teaching standards.

The ideal candidate holds QTS with Biology or Science, with proven KS3/KS4 and A-Level experience, a dynamic approach, and strong classroom management to engage students across all science pathways.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school in Ipswich where Science is taught as a combined subject at KS3 before students progress to separate Sciences and Combined Science pathways at GCSE. The school offers Biology through to A-Level, with a strong uptake across the Sciences and a clear focus on maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time Biology Teacher on a temporary basis from 1 November 2026, supporting the Head of Science with the delivery of Biology across KS3, KS4 and KS5. The successful Biology Teacher will be a dynamic and inspiring classroom practitioner with a proven track record of excellent teaching and experience delivering Biology at A-Level.

The successful Biology Teacher will have:

• QTS with a Biology or Science specialism
• Experience teaching Biology across KS3 and KS4
• Experience teaching Biology at A-Level / KS5
• Strong subject knowledge and classroom management
• A proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching
• A dynamic, enthusiastic and engaging approach to learning
