Job Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging biology lessons across a range of post-16 courses (A-Level, BTEC, Access to HE, etc.).
• Develop schemes of work, resources, and assessments that align with curriculum and awarding body requirements.
• Support students’ academic progress through tailored teaching, feedback, and tutorials.
• Contribute to the development of course materials and the overall success of the science department.
• Participate in internal quality assurance processes and attend departmental meetings and training.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progression.

Job Requirements:

• A degree in Biology or a related life science subject – essential.
• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) – preferred.
• Experience teaching Biology in a further education or secondary setting – desirable.
• Passion for education and a commitment to supporting learners of all backgrounds.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
• Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
