Job summary

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking an experienced production scientist to lead day-to-day manufacturing of sequencing kit components, including DNA/RNA analytes and protein–DNA complexes. You will ensure batch records are followed, perform testing, and contribute to process improvements.

The role requires a BSc or equivalent, with GMP/GLP familiarity, strong organisation, resilience, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Relevant laboratory experience in chemistry, biochemistry or pharmaceutical environments.
• Knowledge of GMP/GLP and quality systems.
• Structured, process-driven with a quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day production of kit and flowcell components.
• Produce DNA/RNA analytes and protein–DNA complexes.
• Carry out batch record following and testing as required.
• Manage equipment and liaise with manufacturers.
• Support continuous improvement and troubleshooting.
• Track production data and update specifications.
• Raise Change Notes, Deviations, CAPA and Non-conformance.

We are looking for an experienced individual to join our Biologics Tech Transfer team to support onboarding and scale up of the production of analyte and other components of Oxford Nanopore sequencing kits.

The Details...

The successful candidate will carry out the day to day production of kit and flowcell components including the production of DNA/RNA analytes, production of protein-DNA complexes and production of other bulk components for sequencing kits. You'll also ensure batch records are correctly followed and carry out testing as required.

Other Responsibilities Include

• Equipment management including liaising with the manufacturer
• Continuous improvement and troubleshooting
• Production data tracking
• Updating BPs and item specifications
• Raising Change Note, Deviation, CAPA and Non-conformance
• General lab maintenance
• Batch records review

What We're Looking For...

We'll expect you to have relevant laboratory experience, ideally within a chemistry, biochemistry or pharmaceutical environment or in large scale protein, DNA, or chemicals processing. You should have a working knowledge of chemical, biochemical or molecular biology techniques as appropriate for the specific area and be familiar with GMP and GLP. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies would also be beneficial. We’re looking for an individual who is well organised, resilient under pressure with a good eye for detail and who likes to take a systematic approach to work. This role will suit someone who is quality and process driven, team orientated, responsive to customer needs and who wants to influence change positively and effectively. A BSc or equivalent relevant experience is required.
