Job description

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Biologics Coordinator to join our dynamic Rheumatology team. This is a cross-county position that plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across two key hospital sites.

As the Biologics Coordinator, you will be based at Musgrove Park Hospital but will also need to travel to Yeovil District Hospital on a weekly basis. You will support the coordination and monitoring of biologic therapies for patients with rheumatological conditions, ensuring safe, timely, and effective treatment in line with clinical guidelines and best practice.

Main duties of the job
  • Act as a key point of contact for patients receiving biologic therapy.
  • Coordinate biologic prescribing, monitoring, and follow-up appointments.
  • Collaborate closely with clinicians, pharmacists, and administrative staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant protocols and safety standards.

Qualifications
  • Good standard of general education. Must be able to communicate in English language, both written and verbally appropriate to the post. RSA/OCR III WP/Typing or equivalent. AMSPAR or British Medical Secretary Diploma (including medical terminology) or alternative experience.
  • ECDL or equivalent. ILM 3 Leadership and Management, or equivalent (or be prepared to work towards).
Experience
  • Previous secretarial experience (minimum 3 years). Evidence of supervisory & mentoring skills. Audio typing/work processing. Medical audio typing. Working within human resource policies.
  • Extensive administrative experience at senior level.
