Job summary

EMBL-EBI seeks a Bioinformatician specialising in structural biology, proteomics and integrative modelling to join the PDBe community. The role connects XL-MS, CF-MS and AP-MS data with structural restraints and integrative models, enabling interoperable data deposition and access across major resources.

You will develop standards and tools, align with PRIDE and wwPDB, and contribute to publications and training. Hybrid work on the Wellcome Genome Campus in Cambridgeshire is offered.

Qualifications

• PhD in Bioinformatics or related field with strong background in proteomics and structure biology.
• Familiarity with proteomics metadata, data identifiers and scientific repositories.
• Experience with scientific software development (Python preferred).
• Understanding of FAIR data principles and reproducible research practices.
• Experience with Linux environments, Git, testing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyse XL-MS, CF-MS, AP-MS and integrative modelling workflows to identify data and metadata needs.
• Extend and adopt community standards for structural interactomics and modelling data.
• Develop data models and interoperable software tools connecting proteomics and structural biology formats.
• Create tools, APIs, workflows and docs for standard-compliant data deposition and validation.
• Work with PRIDE and PDB-IHM to establish linked workflows across resources.
• Support integrated search, visualization and programmatic access for structural interactomics data.
• Engage with researchers and standards communities to test and evolve infrastructure.
• Contribute to publications, training and dissemination.
