Bioinformatician - Breast Cancer Genomics
Location: London - Onsite
Contract Type: Full-time 3 years FTC

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Computational Research Scientist to join our cutting-edge research programme focused on treatment-resistant breast cancers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the understanding of genomic and transcriptomic determinants of heterogeneity in aggressive breast cancer, using state-of-the-art computational and statistical methods.

You will be working at the interface of computational biology and translational cancer research, you will apply and develop computational approaches to integrate bulk and single-cell genomic/transcriptomic data with imaging assays, with the aim of identifying novel mechanisms of therapy resistance and discovering new therapeutic targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform integrative analysis of high-throughput molecular profiling data from patient-derived samples and organoids.
  • Analyse and validate findings using public genomic and transcriptomic datasets.
  • Collaborate closely with experimental and clinical scientists to translate computational discoveries into pre-clinical and translational studies.
  • Contribute to the optimisation and extension of computational pipelines for large-scale data processing.
  • Communicate findings through scientific publications and presentations in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Essential Requirements:
  • A PhD in a quantitative field (e.g. bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, maths).
  • Plus Post doc or industry experience
  • Experience in the analysis of genomic and/or transcriptomic and/or epigenetic datasets.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting (e.g. R or Python).
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods and data integration techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
