Job summary

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a full-time Band 3 Biobank Assistant/Researcher in Stanmore. The role involves consenting patients, logging samples, and supporting a digital pathology and AI project across Stanmore and Bolsover Street sites.

You will work with biobanked samples (blood, plasma, slides, wax blocks, tissues, DNA/RNA), and receive full training in consenting and phlebotomy as required. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to consent eligible patients for Biobank use.
• Experience logging, anonymising, and tracking samples and data.
• Ability to work across Stanmore and Bolsover Street sites.

Responsibilities

• Select, prepare and scan slides for digital pathology projects.
• Use databases/spreadsheets to collect and log clinical data and research samples.
• Prepare samples for courier or receive from collaborators.
