Qualifications

  • Cell culture experience is essential.
  • Experience with recombinant cell lines and hybridoma is required.
  • Knowledge of health and safety in laboratory environments is essential.
  • Experience with Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is desirable.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment is required.

The Scientist for Leica Biosystems is responsible for aspects of data generation to support the development of our product portfolio. It is intended that work will focus on Companion Diagnostic product development but will not be limited to this and the successful candidates may find themselves working on a variety of projects as the need arises.

This position is part of the Research and Development (R&D) department located in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK and will be an on-site role.

You will be a part of the Research and Development team and report to a Technical Team Lead and will be responsible for all aspects of data generation using our automated staining systems plus producing the required documentation such as plans and reports. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manufacture high quality antibody from sequence to final product for NPD, Ops and Cdx
  • Become part of a team responsible for process improvements within the recombinant manufacturing team.
  • Deploy DBS tools to drive delivery of high quality product for key internal and external stakeholders.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Cell culture experience, ideally recombinant cell lines and hybridoma
  • Experience of antibody purification
  • Have knowledge of H&S and how this applies to Laboratory environments
  • Experience of Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
  • Experience of working within a regulated environment
