Miller Insurance has a new vacancy for a Binding Authority Technician. The role involves providing prompt, accurate, and effective technical administration and processing support directly to clients and the business unit.

The Role
  1. Keep track of impending renewals and provide renewal information to Account Executives in a timely manner to facilitate terms and firm orders.
  2. Liaise with Account Executives to gather relevant information for market documentation, ensuring it meets client and market requirements.
  3. Coordinate with Account Executives to secure market agreements and monitor progress using diary/pending systems.
  4. Produce client documentation accurately and promptly.
  5. Maintain accurate and concise placing files using the corporate document management system.
  6. Work with compliance and credit control to ensure procedures are followed.
  7. Maintain correct aggregate and GPI limits within Binder management systems.
  8. Ensure data and records are accurately maintained within Binder management systems.
  9. Generate exception reports, trend analyses, profit commission calculations, and KPI reports.
  10. Prepare and submit London Market Insurance documentation, including LPAN submissions to Xchanging.
  11. Review and resolve technical queries from clients, markets, credit control, claims, and the business unit, prioritizing the client’s best interests.
  12. Provide updates and progress reports to management as needed.
  13. Use diary systems to ensure files are progressed appropriately.
  14. Monitor signings from Xchanging, resolve queries, and ensure timely premium settlements, informing the business accordingly.
  15. Perform quality control checks on all documentation.
  16. Set up Binding Authority contracts within internal management systems promptly.
  17. Adhere to Miller’s policies, procedures, training materials, and controls, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory standards, including Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules.
  18. Promote Miller’s brand and values to enhance its market reputation.
Qualifications
  • CII qualifications or ongoing progress towards these are desirable.
  • GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths.
  • Minimum of 3 A-level passes or equivalent.
Knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of binders process.
Experience
  • Experience in a technical binder processing role is essential.
  • Experience with Lloyd’s market tools such as Atlas, DCOM, and Crystal.
