Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a BIM Technician to work within a design and build team across water, energy and environment sectors in the UK. You will deliver CAD/BIM outputs, support the BIM environment, and contribute to data standards and digital rehearsal throughout project lifecycles.

You will develop technical and management skills, grow your professional network, and gain long‑term career advancement opportunities within a joint venture of Mott MacDonald Bentley.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or related field.
• Knowledge of CAD/BIM software and management tools.
• Understanding of ISO 19650 information management principles.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to adapt to changing processes and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver CAD/BIM design data and perform quality control, contribute to CAD/BIM standards.
• Use 3D modelling to support design, clash resolution, asset data capture, and cost capture.
• Support the development of the common data environment (Autodesk BIM 360) and manage BIM data through the project lifecycle.
• Create a standardised BIM element library to support model reuse and low‑carbon solutions.
• Take responsibility for cyber security of CAD/BIM data and access.
• Validate CAD/BIM models from suppliers and integrate into models.
• Work with designers to balance time, cost and quality.
• Enable use of Mott MacDonald’s global design services.
• Ensure BIM/CAD output considers safety, wellbeing, environment and sustainability.
• Provide guidance to less experienced BIM technicians to aid development.
