Job description

Job title: BIM Technician

Based from: Dronfield

Reports to: BIM Manager

Salary: Up to £42,000

The Role

As the BIM Technician, you will join our busy BIM Team to support the BIM Manager with BIM coordination and producing CAD designs for complex fire, life safety, electronic security systems, and network infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Producing and amending CAD Designs, Constructions, and As Fitted models using Revit and AutoCAD software
  2. Creating take-offs from models and presenting this within an Excel spreadsheet
  3. Designing life safety and security systems (with guidance from Design Engineers)
  4. Creating schematics and electrical wiring diagrams as needed (with guidance from Design Engineers)
  5. Exporting DWF and other formats for collaboration internally and externally
  6. Taking an active role in the continuous improvement of company systems
  7. Providing reports as appropriate to your Line Manager
  8. Producing clash detection reports
  9. Participating in weekly BIM coordination meetings and addressing any issues
  10. Maintaining weekly model uploads for the live project being worked on

Person Specification
Essential
  • Computer literate and proficient in all core Microsoft Office packages
  • Prior experience of Revit & AutoCAD software
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Honest, trustworthy, and able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to form good working relationships with colleagues, customers, and outside bodies
  • Ability to work using your own initiative
Desirable
  • Previous experience within a related field
  • Experience using AutoDesk Construction Cloud
  • Experience using Revit MEP
  • Proficiency in a European language (desirable but not essential)

Working Conditions

The role is based in our Dronfield office, which is an open-plan environment with multi-screen computer use. Occasional attendance at other offices may be required.
