Summary

We’re looking for an experienced BIM Technician with a passion for Electrical Engineering and the Energy sector. If you have technical expertise in BIM and are seeking a new challenge, you could join our growing electricity transmission and distribution design team. Location: Stowmarket or London - Hybrid

Role Overview

As a BIM Technician, you’ll support electrical design of electricity substations across the UK by producing detailed 2D and 3D drawings from concept to completion. You will collaborate closely with internal teams including electrical design, structural, surveys, wayleaves, cables, and environmental teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Producing engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, Civils3D according to company BIM policies
• Maintaining high standards and accuracy, following Quality Assurance procedures
• Managing BIM/CAD files and project documentation in compliance with company policies
• Assisting in scheduling and maintaining drawing production timelines
• Collaborating across disciplines to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction
• Deliverables include substation layouts, cable layouts, earthing layouts, busbar and conductor layouts, control room arrangements, and more

Candidate Profile

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civils3D, Revit, and Microsoft Office
• Experience in electrical design
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to ongoing learning

Desirable Qualifications

• Membership or working towards membership with ICE EngTech or similar
• Mentoring experience with apprentices
• Experience in electricity distribution sector and substation design
