GlobalCAD is a trusted BIM service provider, working with leading UK fire protection companies to deliver fully coordinated 3D models and installation drawings for sprinkler system designs across commercial, residential and industrial projects.

We are now seeking an experienced BIM Technician (Revit) with a background in sprinkler system modelling and coordination, to join our growing team on a full-time freelance/contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to support prestigious UK projects and to develop deep expertise in the application of UK codes of practice and design standards for fire protection systems.

About the Role

As a BIM Technician, you will:

• Develop detailed 3D Revit models for sprinkler system designs in alignment with UK industry standards (BS EN 12845, BS 9251, BS 9990, LPC Rules).

• Coordinate sprinkler systems with other building services (MEP), resolving spatial clashes using Navisworks and collaborative BIM tools (e.g. Autodesk Construction Cloud).

• Produce 2D installation and fabrication drawings from the Revit model for construction and manufacturing use.

• Liaise with client design engineers to ensure layouts meet performance and compliance requirements.

• Engage with UK project teams to build working knowledge of relevant codes of practice and design criteria, becoming a technical specialist in this niche area.

• Support the delivery of fully structured as-built Revit models with associated BIM data.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in Revit-based BIM modelling for sprinkler systems or wider MEP services.

• Familiarity with UK fire protection standards (BS EN 12845, BS 9251, BS 9990, LPC Rules) is desirable — or a strong willingness to develop deep expertise in this area.

• Ability to produce accurate installation drawings for sprinkler system fit-out.

• Solid understanding of coordination workflows with other MEP and structural services.

• Experience using Navisworks for clash detection is an advantage.

• A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and compliance.

• Strong spoken and written English skills are essential, as you will work closely with UK-based client teams.

• Must have properly licensed Autodesk software (commercial use), along with suitable hardware and a reliable internet connection for professional remote working.
