Job summary

JC Virtual PMs is hiring a BIM Manager to lead information management strategy across its UK-based project portfolio, aligned with ISO 19650. You will set standards for digital information creation, management and delivery across all project stages and report to the Senior BIM Manager.

This remote-first role offers flexible hours, full-time or part-time employment or an associate on a day rate, with exposure to diverse UK and international projects and mentoring for career progression.

Qualifications

• Around 5 years' BIM management experience on live construction projects.
• Working knowledge of ISO 19650 Part 1, 2 and 3.
• Proficiency in BIM software and collaboration platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) for each project.
• Manage the CDE and ensure all team members follow correct workflows.
• Coordinate federated model reviews and clash detection sessions.
• Produce and maintain the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP).
• Support design teams in the production of Level of Information Need (LOIN) documents.
• Oversee digital handover requirements including COBie and asset data.

About JC Virtual PMs

JC Virtual PMs (JC.VPMS LTD) is a UK-based virtual consultancy delivering project management, design management, BIM, information management and document control. We work with SMEs and other clients across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, bringing joined-up project, design and information management to projects that need more than a freelancer but less than a large consultancy. We are remote-first and growing.

About the role

We’re recruiting a BIM Manager to lead information management strategy across our project portfolio. You’ll set the standard for how digital information is created, managed and delivered across all project stages in line with ISO 19650. You will report to a Senior BIM Manager and work closely with our Information Managers.

This is our core BIM role. The step up to Senior BIM Manager comes with larger commissions and mentoring others.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) for each project
• Manage the CDE and ensure all team members follow correct workflows
• Coordinate federated model reviews and clash detection sessions
• Produce and maintain the Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP)
• Support design teams in the production of Level of Information Need (LOIN) documents
• Oversee digital handover requirements including COBie and asset data

What we're looking for

Essential

• Around 5 years' BIM management experience on live construction projects
• Working knowledge of ISO 19650 Parts 1, 2 and 3
• Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, Solibri and at least one CDE (Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint, BIM 360)
• Right to work in the country where you will be based

Desirable

• Understanding of COBie and digital asset handover
• Strong communicator able to translate BIM into client value
• BIM certification (e.g. BRE or BSI ISO 19650)

• Remote-first: you work from your home base, with occasional client meetings or site visits when a project needs them.
• Our clients and teams span the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia, so we agree working hours that overlap with each project's time zones.
• We work in Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint and Outlook) and our own project controls and HR platforms for timesheets, reporting, leave and expenses.
• This role is open on an employed basis (full-time or part-time) or, for experienced candidates, as an associate on a day rate.
• We resource against confirmed client commissions, so start dates follow project mobilisation. We will be open about timing from our first conversation.
