As a BIM Firestop Engineer, you will design applications of Firestop in BIM models based on Hilti’s approvals, test data, and proprietary software suite. You will drive technical customer engagement through value/customer-oriented problem-solving support. In addition to providing bill of materials to other Hilti functions (supply chain) for further processing, you will develop technical application competence within sales and business development teams.

What does the role involve?

  • Assess the availability of required information, scope, and time to perform engineering services, upon request of the BIM Project Manager
  • Create the "design core & specifics" based on customer requirements to serve as the BIM Design guideline for BIM Modelers (internal/external)
  • Join engineering meetings with all involved parties to coordinate an optimal firestop solution, in collaboration with the BIM Project Manager
  • Engineer complete applications as the lead engineer based on Hilti Firestop approvals and test data
  • Ensure proper engineering documentation according to the design guideline
  • Collaborate with the International BIM Lead Engineer on project execution to perform value engineering and ensure adherence to Hilti/BIM standards
  • Serve as Hilti’s technical conscience on all involved projects
  • Proactively involve BLE of BIM Competence Centre for highly complex cases beyond current competence
  • Establish excellent working relationships with BLE of the BIM Competence Centre and regional counterparts
  • Create an open working climate through integration and motivation of team members

What you need is:

  • A degree in engineering, preferably in Structural/Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in the Construction industry
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Passive Fire Protection experience (beneficial)
  • Familiarity with BIM modelling software (beneficial)
  • Understanding of the correlation between technical and commercial aspects of engineering work
