Job description

Company Description

As one of the world's leading consultancy, engineering and operating firms, we hold ourselves responsible for today's biggest challenges - fighting climate change, enabling the digital transition and meeting the needs of growing populations. We do this by designing smart, sustainable infrastructure, transport and buildings, creating a better future for communities everywhere.

Across Europe and Africa, our work is critical to enabling transformation in both mature and emerging markets. Our operations predominantly span the UK, Ireland, Poland, Romania and Ukraine, with some interests in Africa. We deliver impact through consultancy, engineering and operational services that help our clients and communities shape resilient, low-carbon and people-focused environments.

Established in 2012, Omnia Projects is a respected specialist in T&D engineering, project management and technical assurance. With over 110 staff the company has delivered critical infrastructure for clients including National Grid, helping to shape the UK's evolving energy system.

Omnia Projects brings deep expertise across the full energy project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to commissioning and operation, helping clients navigate the growing complexity of the UK's energy landscape. The addition of Omnia Projects strengthens Egis' strategy to deliver a fully integrated service offering in the sector. It enhances capabilities in civil and structural engineering, protection and control and project delivery services for high-voltage substations and overhead line and cable design, creating a broader service offering for clients involved in energy transition and grid modernisation.

Job Description

As a BIM Engineer / Co-ordinator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engineering and infrastructure projects at the forefront of the UK's drive to modernise and decarbonise its electricity transmission network. You will support our design and engineering teams, clients, and stakeholders in developing and managing digital design and data environments using industry-recognised BIM processes and technologies.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary project delivery team, contributing to improved collaboration, design efficiency, and asset information management, with an emphasis on the UK Power Sector including substations, overhead lines, and underground cables.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead or support the implementation of BIM Level 2/ISO 19650 processes across multidisciplinary projects.
  • Create, manage and maintain project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDPs), and model coordination schedules.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers and clients to ensure that 3D models and data-rich environments are integrated and aligned with project requirements.
  • Produce, manage, and federate 3D models, ensuring data integrity, clash detection, and coordination across all disciplines using tools such as Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, and BIM 360/ACC.
  • Coordinate model reviews and issue tracking using Common Data Environments (CDE) in line with project and client standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry and client BIM standards and procedures, and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal BIM protocols.
  • Provide support and training to team members on BIM tools and workflows.
  • Work closely with document controllers and project managers to ensure that digital outputs align with project documentation and version control.
  • Assist in digital data handover and asset information delivery for use in operation and maintenance phases.
  • Promote innovation in digital construction techniques, including automation, 4D/5D modelling and digital twin strategies.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and promote safe working in a digital environment.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience in BIM coordination or digital engineering within the infrastructure, utilities, or energy sector - experience in the UK Power Sector is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in relevant BIM software tools such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and BIM 360 / ACC.
  • Strong knowledge of UK BIM Framework, ISO 19650 series, and industry best practices.
  • Understanding of multi-disciplinary project coordination and digital design delivery.
  • Familiarity with electricity transmission assets and environments (e.g., National Grid projects, substations, OHL) is advantageous.
  • Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams with clients and contractors.
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-centric approach to delivering high-quality outputs.
Qualifications:
  • HNC / HND / Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • BIM-related certification (e.g., BRE, BSI, or Autodesk) is desirable.
