Job summary

Velocity Recruitment is seeking a proactive BIM Coordinator to join a leading main contractor in London. You will coordinate BIM processes across projects, support BEPs, manage CDEs, and lead clash detection using Navisworks, Revit, and Solibri.

You will work with design and construction teams to ensure ISO 19650 compliance and effective use of 3D/4D/5D models throughout the lifecycle, delivering high-quality BIM deliverables on schedule.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as BIM Coordinator or similar role in main contractor/subcontractor/consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of BIM Level 2, ISO 19650, and information management.
• Experience coordinating with designers, consultants, and site teams using common data environments.

Responsibilities

Job Title: BIM Coordinator

Location: London

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented BIM Coordinator to join a leading main contractor in London. This is an exciting opportunity for a BIM professional to play a key role in the coordination and delivery of BIM processes across our construction projects. You will work closely with project, design, and construction teams to ensure effective BIM coordination, information management, and digital collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

The first two projects will be large commercial fit‑out schemes in Central London, providing an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high‑profile projects within a collaborative and fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the implementation and delivery of BIM processes across multiple projects, including large commercial fit‑out schemes in Central London.
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate BIM information between internal project teams, consultants, designers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Manage and maintain Common Data Environments (CDEs) to ensure accurate, controlled, and timely sharing of project information.
• Lead and support clash detection, model federation, model validation, and design coordination using tools such as Navisworks, Revit, and Solibri.
• Review and coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models to identify clashes, discrepancies, and potential design issues.
• Attend and contribute to BIM and design coordination meetings, tracking issues through to resolution.
• Provide BIM support, guidance, and training to project teams, consultants, and subcontractors where required.
• Work closely with design and construction teams to ensure effective use of 3D, 4D, and 5D models throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with the production, review, and management of BIM deliverables in line with project requirements.
• Monitor BIM and digital project performance and contribute to continuous improvement of BIM processes and workflows.
• Ensure project information is managed in accordance with ISO 19650 principles and relevant client requirements.

Requirements:

• Relevant qualifications in architecture, engineering, construction, BIM, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience working as a BIM Coordinator or in a similar BIM-focused role, ideally within a main contractor, specialist subcontractor, or consultancy environment.
• Strong understanding of BIM Level 2 principles, ISO 19650, information management, and BIM coordination processes.
• Proficient in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and CDE platforms such as BIM 360, Viewpoint, or Asite.
• Experience with clash detection, model coordination, and multidisciplinary BIM environments.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, particularly within commercial fit‑out or complex construction projects.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with designers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to managing project information.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a fast‑paced construction environment.
