What will the role offer?

The standard working week is 37.5 hours, and we offer a range of flexible working practices, including hybrid, part‑time and adaptable working patterns, allowing you to adjust how you work as your life evolves.

The opportunity:

As an appointed Design Partner on some of the UK and Ireland’s most significant and complex infrastructure projects, we are proud to support clients including National Highways, Network Rail, Transport Scotland, Transport for Wales, Transport for London, Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail), Local Authorities and major Contractors. In this role, you will join our Digital Engineering team delivering BIM services across the entire portfolio, along with CDE management, AI initiatives and digital solutions. As part of a multidisciplinary engineering business, there will be opportunities to contribute to projects across rail, highways and other civil infrastructure sectors, providing exposure to a diverse and varied project portfolio.

These programmes also provide a diverse range of opportunities for personal and professional development, whether you are working on long‑term, high‑value frameworks or smaller, community‑focused initiatives. With these frameworks in place, you will have the opportunity to influence infrastructure projects that shape the region’s future.

As a BIM Coordinator you will act as a team leader, producing and overseeing the production of BIM deliverables for engineering commissions that satisfy the overarching criteria of quality, cost and programme.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for the commercial success of the projects within your portfolio, controlling budgets and managing the costs associated with the production of deliverables
  • Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to queries etc.
  • Contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function
  • Assuming the role of people manager when required by the business
We want to hear from you if you have:
  • Applied BIM process and principles to clearly understood situations, where concepts are matched to problems
  • Very good working knowledge of relevant software (e.g. ProjectWise, AutoCAD, Microstation, Revit etc.)and similar design/analytical tools
  • Experience in the application of BIM standards and codes of practice, e.g. BS 1192 and ISO 19650 framework
  • Very good knowledge of suppliers and types of services they provide
  • Very good oral communication skills and are able to present arguments and ideas well.
  • A very good understanding of CDM and risk assessment
  • A good understanding of interface management and spatial coordination.
  • Supervisory and people manager skills and the capability to manage a small to medium sized, locally based BIM team
  • Developed experience and expertise within the BIM discipline
  • Good knowledge of client and international BIM standards, BIM documents, CDEs and emerging technologies
  • Developed experience of working within a common data environment in accordance with BIM processes
  • A level 4 qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject (preferred, but not essential for individuals who can demonstrate the appropriate level of experience)
  • EngTech (or higher) status is also desirable, demonstrating your commitment to professional standards in engineering
