Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a BIM Coordinator to join the Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service team in Europe.

The role focuses on coordinating digital models and data across design, construction, and handover stages, ensuring ISO 19650 compliance and effective data management within CDEs. You will collaborate with Project Management, Engineering and Planning to drive BIM workflows, resolve modelling issues, and support training for the team, while maintaining standards and ensuring

Qualifications

• Engineering degree preferred with 3D Modelling experience and 3+ years relatable work experience.
• Experience with Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Forma, AutoCAD and BIM data coordination.
• Experience with BIM coordination and BIM methodologies.
• Experience with Asset Information Modelling (AIM) and data transfer to customers.
• Thorough understanding of BIM processes and ISO19650 standards.

• Support BIM implementation in projects with global teams and business units.
• Review specifications to identify BIM requirements for projects.
• Develop and ensure BIM Execution/Information Management Plans are followed.
• Maintain and administrate Project CDEs.
• Set up linked models and coordinate models across disciplines; manage models and audits.

Hitachi Energy have an exciting opportunity for a BIM Coordinator to join a dynamic and collaborative team driving ex-cellence in engineering projects. As a BIM Coordinator, you will be an integral part of the design team to coordinate, support the process of coordinating digital models and integrated data from the design stage, through the construction stage and to handover. This opportunity offers the chance to work closely with Project Management, Engineering, and Planning teams, while developing expertise in cutting-edge BIM workflows and ensuring that any potential is-sues during modelling, clash detection, data conversion is dealt with efficiently ensuring compliance to ISO 19650 Standards.

Location, (Remote) with travel to sites and Birmingham offices as required

How you'll make an impact:

• Support of the implementation of BIM into projects working with global teams and other business units to incorporate best practices.
• Review specifications to identify BIM requirements for projects.
• Support the development of Pre and Post Appointment BIM Execution/Information Management Plans and ensure that the specified plan is followed during project execution.
• Maintain and administrate projects Common Data Environment (CDE).
• Support development and training of team on BIM processes and tools.
• Set up linked models and coordinate models across disciplines, including frequent model management, audits, administration and maintenance.
• Lead and support BIM coordination meetings.
• Coordinate and manage BIM project data sets/workflow and project set up.
• Understand and ensure any changes in procedure and standards are effectively communicated to project teams

Your Background

• Engineering degree preferred. with 3D Modelling experience and minimum of 3 years relatable work experience
• Experience with Revit, Navisworks, Autodesk Forma (previously Autodesk Construction Cloud/ACC), AutoCAD and Navisworks, and experience in BIM and data coordination.
• Experience with BIM coordination and BIM methodologies
• Experience with Asset Information Modelling (AIM), extracting from Models and transferring to customers.
• Thorough understanding of BIM processes and global BIM standards like ISO19650
• Proficient in using BIM authoring tools to provide technical support and mentoring required to the project team.
• Ability to manage time and deal with multiple projects simultaneously.
• In this role you need to be self-motivated and work effectively both independently and as part of the team.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and good communication abilities.
• Knowledge of various relevant industry standard client BIM practices including National Grid / SSE / SPEN / DNO requirements, is desirable.
• IOSH Managing Safely or similar, is desirable.
