Job summary

First People Solutions is seeking a BIM / Civil Technician in Glasgow to join a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering solutions. You will develop 2D/3D drawings for drainage, roads and earthworks and implement BIM workflows across projects from concept to construction.

The role requires 2+ years in a UK civil/structural consultancy, proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, CAD, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in a UK civil/structural engineering consultancy.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience with PDS / CauseWay or MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage is highly desirable.
• Understanding of civil design standards, local authority adoptions, and BIM processes.
• Clean UK driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality civil infrastructure designs and 3D BIM models for diverse development projects.
• Produce detailed 2D/3D drawings and models for drainage systems, roads, earthworks, and civil infrastructure.
• Implement BIM workflows and standards to ensure coordinated, clash-free multidisciplinary design outcomes.
• Support project delivery from initial concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient project delivery.

The Role

• As Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality civil infrastructure designs and 3D BIM models across a variety of development projects.
• Produce detailed 2D/3D drawings and models for drainage systems, roads, earthworks, and civil infrastructure.
• Implement BIM workflows and standards to ensure coordinated, clash-free multidisciplinary design outcomes.
• Support project delivery from initial concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient project delivery.

What We Need from You

• HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, CAD, or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience working within a UK civil/structural engineering consultancy
