Your Role and What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work with the centralised billing team to provide paralegal support for all aspects of billing and housekeeping, contributing to the aim of achieving department financial targets and compliance. In the Public Law team, we’re keen to have you on board if you are a great team player and willing to learn quickly. You’ll have your own caseload from the beginning, offering hands-on experience in a law firm. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the team in hitting financial targets and maintaining low KPI rejections through financial awareness, expertise and monitoring case progression
  • Ensuring regulatory and information management standards are met and proactively manage risk through progressing files
  • Achieving SLAs in the team to ensure consistent good service for internal and external clients
  • Assisting the team in organising work in a timely manner and consistently following agreed processes, departmental guidelines and policies
  • Raising inefficiencies, proposing potential solutions with management and supporting the delivery of plans
  • Building and demonstrating expertise, sharing knowledge with the team and participating in continuous personal development
About You

We’re looking for a Paralegal with a friendly, enthusiastic and can-do approach who is well-motivated. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages like Excel
  • Good communication, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrable experience working to SLAs and KPIs
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Legal Aid, CCMS and Law Costs
  • The ability to motivate others to deliver and exceed objectives
  • Empathy and compassion to guide clients through challenging personal circumstances
  • Previous experience gained as a paralegal is desirable
