Job description

A Bilingual Recruitment & Social Media Officer is needed to join CICD, a not-for-profit education centre offering life-changing volunteer programmes in Africa, India, and the Caribbean. Based in East Yorkshire, CICD (College for International Co-operation and Development) prepares volunteers for immersive placements tackling poverty, climate change, and inequality. Programmes include 7- and 10-month volunteer opportunities in partnership with Humana People to People, a Climate Activist course in the Caribbean, and the Gaia Scholarship, which helps cover course fees.

As Recruitment & Social Media Officer, you'll be the link between prospective volunteers and their future journeys, running CICDs social media channels and supporting individuals through the full enrolment process. You'll need to be confident engaging with people online and over Zoom, comfortable juggling priorities, and genuinely motivated by CICDs mission and values.

Were looking for someone proactive, people-focused and digitally confident, with fluency in either Portuguese, Spanish or Italian. Many of our volunteers come from across Europe and Latin America, so you'll play a key role in engaging with them online, guiding them through the process and making them feel supported from the outset. If you're creative, curious, and motivated by purpose over profit, you'll feel right at home here.

To Qualify: You might be a Social Media Manager, Recruitment Administrator, Enrolment Coordinator, Recruiter, Marketing Assistant or something similar, were open, you just need a CV that demonstrates

  • Fluency in either Portuguese, Spanish, or Italian, in addition to English (essential)
  • Confidence running social media channels (Meta, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn)
  • A friendly, proactive approach to helping people through the recruitment process
  • The ability to host engaging online meetings and info sessions
  • Experience coordinating enquiries and managing admin tasks end-to-end
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow processes accurately
  • Great collaboration skills and a willingness to share ideas and learn as you go
  • A genuine interest in climate action, global development and social justice
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to workplace location).

Why Join?

  • Be part of a mission-driven organisation making a global impact.
  • Work in a collaborative, people-focused environment.
  • Shape the future of an expanding volunteer programme.

You'll be joining a small, passionate team that works closely to create meaningful change. This is a role where you can make a real difference, helping people take the first step toward making an impact in the world.
