Job summary

Connect2Hampshire is seeking a Casual Instructor to deliver Bikeability cycle training from its Winchester base. You will deputise for the Tutor, drive the Bikeability van when qualified, assess risks and plan sessions across Hampshire, delivering high-quality outdoor cycling training to children and young people.

The role requires a keen cyclist, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel and work outdoors in all weathers. DBS checked and reliable transport are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Keen and confident cyclist with own bike and helmet.
• Comfortable cycling and working outdoors in all weather.
• Ability to travel across the wide geographical Hampshire area.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic IT skills, with literacy and numeracy.
• Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycling Training or willingness to undertake training to meet standards to comply with Bikeability Grant conditions.
• Be punctual, reliable and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• De delivering Bikeability cycle training to riders.
• Planning and running each training session.
• Risk assessing training sites and routes and recording results.
• Managing groups with good communication, planning and positivity.
• Traveling across Hampshire to distribute bicycles for learning sessions.
