Bike Mechanic Position at GCN and GMBN

Are you a bike mechanic looking to work on some of the leading bikes in the industry? Do you have experience building and maintaining high-value bikes? If so, GCN and GMBN would love for you to join our team!

As our in-house bike mechanic, you will work on some of the industry's leading bikes and cutting-edge equipment. We collaborate with fantastic partners in the cycling and mountain bike industry, giving you first access to some of the world's top bikes and new developments. If you're passionate about bikes and bike tech, this role is ideal for you.

This role involves liaising with our Production team and Presenters, supporting the Workshop Manager to ensure the workshop aligns with our channel needs, and preparing bikes for shoots and races. Therefore, interpersonal skills are important, as the Presenters and sponsors are your clients.

The position is full-time (Monday - Friday) based on-site at our Bath offices. You need the right to work in the UK. Occasional travel may be required.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  1. Manage deliveries and organize shipping of bikes and equipment for sponsors and partners.
  2. Build and maintain bikes according to industry standards and partner requirements.
  3. Coordinate with Production and Presenters to ensure bikes are ready for shoots and races.
  4. Track bikes coming to and from the workshop using our system.
  5. Conduct pre-shoot inspections, ensuring compliance with partner brand guidelines.
  6. Assist in creating bike illustrations with our graphic and motion graphics teams for video content.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Passion for our brands and channels, with an understanding of the commercial aspects of bikes in our content.
  • Experience working on high-end bikes (road and/or MTB); familiarity with high-tech equipment is essential.
  • Knowledge of bike fitting and bike technology.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Qualified bike mechanic preferred, but not essential.
  • Cytech qualifications are desirable.
